About Me
Hello. I'm Stacie. I am 55. I am from Texas. I was born here. Raised here. Raised my kids here. I live in the Austin, Texas area. I have always lived around here.
I have my husband, Mike, who is from Alabama (and yes, I hear Roll Tide often). He does not like it here anymore. I'm also really sad the way Austin has changed. People came here because it was different, then they turn it into the place they left. STOP! Anyway. You will hear me talk about him sometimes. He's the best. We just celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary, and are trying to figure out how we can retire soon. We won't.
My daughter, Kaylie, lives and teaches in Austin. She just moved back from New York. I think she will be going back soon. She doesn't like Austin anymore either. My son, Jacob and his wife and new son, live in Georgetown. He is a coach and teacher also. You will probably hear a lot about them. I am very proud of both my children, and have been known to brag.
My mother, Karen (yes it is her real name), lives here with me and my husband. I think she is where the Karen thing came from. No lie. Probably some customer service person from JC Penney back in the 90s remembered her. She's not easy to forget. She will be the topic of many, many, many blogs.
I love animals, so you will here a lot about that. My husband says I have a problem. I rescue a lot. The intention is to get them healthy, then find good homes. They have never left my home. We currently have 11 cats, 3 dogs, and 2 goldfish. I know. You're thinking crazy cat lady. I'm still trying to find homes for most of them. If you're in the area and want a cat, reach out. I'll share info about our animals as well on here. We always wind up with the weird animals, so there are stories.
I will also talk about school frequently. There is always something going on. Plus, I have a lot venting to do. It's crazy today in public schools.
Last thing. I love crafts. I am always finding these neat things to do. Hobby Lobby is a favorite place. I buy a lot of craft stuff. That's it. I buy craft stuff. I could probably open a store.
That's it. I am sure there will be lots of topics come up that someone can relate to, or understand, or have advice or even need advice about.
